JUSTICE ASHWANI KUMAR SINGH ORAL JUDGMENT Date: 05-08-2016 By way of the present application preferred under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the petitioners seek quashing of the order dated 06.10.2007 passed by the learned Judicial Magistrate, Patna City, Patna in Complaint Case No. 148 C of 2007 by which cognizance of the offence under Section 420/34 of the Indian Penal code has been taken.

It is jointly prayed on behalf of the parties that at the intervention of friends and well-wishers, the parties have

If that be so, the offence being compoundable in nature, the parties ought to file an application before the court concerned. In case such an application is filed, the concerned Magistrate shall verify the genuineness of the settlement between the parties and pass necessary orders in accordance with law without any delay, preferably within two weeks from the date of filing.

With the aforesaid observation and direction, the application is disposed of.
