The petitioner seeks bail in anticipation of his arrest in connection with University P.S. Case No. 18 of 2012, dated 01.10.2012, instituted for the offences under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120(B) of the Indian Penal Code.

No.38557 of 2020(3) dt.28-06-2021 2/3 The accusation in the F.I.R. is that certain fake documents were deposited in the University office on behalf of the College of which the informant is the Principal. On inquiry by the Principal of the concerned College/informant, it came to light that some of the Lecturers of the College were responsible for the same which included the petitioner also. One of such accused Lecturers of the concerned College has been granted regular bail.
The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that on the last occasion when this matter was argued, it was urged that there is no statement with regard to the nature of documents which were deposited and which have been alleged to be forged and fabricated. It is also not clear from the F.I.R. as also from the investigation papers, whether those documents were deposited by the petitioner. Considering the vagueness of the statement by stray persons, this Court vide order dated 16.04.2021 had called for the case diary and had also granted provisional anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
Today, it has been submitted on behalf of the
Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.38557 of 2020(3) dt.28-06-2021 3/3 petitioner that there is nothing on record to indicate with certainty as to what offence has been made against the petitioner. It has further been submitted that which document which is said to be forged and fabricated was deposited in the University by the petitioner is yet not known.
Considering the facts afore-stated, the provisional anticipatory bail granted to the petitioner/Arun Kumar Singh @ Prof. Arun Kumar Sinha, in connection with University P.S. Case No. 18 of 2012, is, hereby confirmed. The petitioner shall remain on the same bail-bonds. The application stands disposed off accordingly. (Ashutosh Kumar, J) Praveen-II/- U T
