Patna High Court CWJC No.16635 of 2019 dt.26-08-2019 2/2 In this case, the petitioner has raised a grievance that the authority is not looking into the illegal activity in the matter of illegal mining and its stocking.

Though the petitioner has made several complaints and certain action has also been taken but, has not taken steps to stop the illegal mining of the river bed.

In the considered opinion of this Court, it is the primary duty of the Authority under the Mines Act to stop the activity of illegal mining of the river bed.

With the aforementioned observation, this writ application is disposed of.
