Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner claiming benefit under section 47 of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995.

Learned Assistant Solicitor General appearing for the Union of India places reliance on the Gazette Notification dated 10.09.2002 issued by the Ministry of Social Justice, Government of India whereby the Force wherein petitioner was serving has been exempted from the Act based on which writ petition was filed.

Being faced with such difficulty, counsel for the petitioner fairly submits that he would not press this application.
