The petitioner, who superannuated in the year 1995 as Sub-Inspector of Police, has approached this Court in the year 2008, with a prayer to direct the respondents to promote him as Inspector of Police on the ground that juniors to petitioner were promoted, as Inspector, ignoring the case of the petitioner. Keeping in view the fact that the petitioner superannuated in the year 1995, no relief can be granted at such belated stage.

The writ petition stands dismissed.
