BAJANTHRI) 31-01-2024 The present M.J.C is filed for the non-compliance of the order dated 06.05.2022 passed in C.W.J.C No. 4347 of 2022. One of the grievance is relating to release of the subject matter of the motor vehicle within a period of four weeks from the date of certain correspondence among the petitioner and official respondents. Whereas, the concerned authority has taken their own time of eight months and few

Even though, the concerned official has committed Contempt of Court, however, having regard to the belated compliance, we thought of not to initiate Contempt of Court proceedings. On the other hand, it suffice in imposing litigation cost and it is quantified at Rs. 10,000/- (Ten thousand). Cost shall be paid to the petitioner within the period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of this order, for the reasons that the subject matter of the motor vehicle was under the custody of the official respondent for more than one year.

2. Hence, the present M.J.C- Contempt petition stands disposed off.
