1. The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief(s):- "1. That this is an application for issuance of writ(s) of Mandamus or other appropriate writ to set aside the order dated 12.02.2024 passed File No. 06-17/2022 of the District Magistrate, Sheikhpura whereby and where under the petitioner's application for grant of N.P. bore Rifle license has been rejected in contravention of section 14 of the arms act 1959 and also without considering the materials on record."

2. At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioner to challenge the order

Patna High Court CWJC No.9943 of 2024(2) dt.01-08-2024 2/2 (un-dated), passed by the District Magistrate, Sheikhpura in File No.06-17/22 (annexure-P/6 to the present writ petition), whereby and whereunder the application of the petitioner for grant of arms license has been rejected, by filing appropriate appeal under Section 18 of the Arms Act, 1959. Liberty so sought is granted.

3. It is needless to state that in case appropriate appeal is filed, by the petitioner within a period of four weeks from today, the same shall be considered on merits and the appellate authority shall pass a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks, thereafter.

4. At this juncture, this Court expresses its displeasure regarding the District Magistrate, Sheikhpura, having not even bothered to put a date in the order, passed in Case No.06-17/22, which has been left un-dated. The concerned District Magistrate, Sheikhpura shall ensure that such type of errors do not occur in future.

5. The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
