The petitioner, after having been held guilty of the offence punishable under Sections 323, 452, 427 and 354 of the Indian Penal Code by the learned Special Judge, SC/ST, Begusarai, by the judgment and order, dated 23.08.2016, passed in Sessions Trial No. 620 of 2010, has been released on furnishing bond under the provisions of the Probation of Offenders Act, 1958. He has also been directed to pay compensation to the victim of a sum of Rs. 5,000/- within 30 days of passing of the judgment.

3. Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner has submitted that once the petitioner has been directed to be released under the provisions of the Probation of Offenders Act, 1958, there was no question of asking the petitioner to pay compensation to the victim.
4. I do not find any merit in such contention. This application is accordingly dismissed.
