The petitioner seeks release of the Tractor and trolley bearing Registration No. BR-30GA-1637, which was seized by the Police for being loaded with logs of wood. It appears that the confiscation proceeding has been initiated against the vehicle in question vide Confiscation Case No. 2 of 2018-19.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that

Patna High Court CWJC No.12644 of 2019(3) dt.06-07-2020 2/2 despite the passage of one and half years, the confiscation proceeding has not yet been concluded.

This Court, under the aforesaid circumstances, directs that the confiscation proceeding be positively concluded within a period of four months from the date of production/receipt of a copy of this order, failing which the vehicle shall be released in favour of the petitioner on requisite terms and conditions and on confirmation that the petitioner is the true owner of the vehicle.

With the aforesaid observation / direction, this petition stands disposed off.
