The case is under Section 304(B)/34 of the Indian Penal Code in connection with Araria P.S. Case No. 366 of 2020.
The petitioner is the husband of the deceased lady Karishma Devi. The informant's brother has alleged in the First Information Report that the marriage took place 2 and 1⁄2 years ago and the couple was also blessed with a child. However, from day one her in-laws were demanding Rs. 1,00,000/- and a motorcycle as a dowry and used to beat his sister for that. On 12.05.2020, the neighbour of the petitioner's family informed him on mobile that her in-laws had killed the lady. When he reached the spot, he found his sister laying dead and her husband sitting the side. The other members of the family had
Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.53925 of 2021(2) dt.07-04-2022 2/2 already left the place of occurrence. It is in this manner that the present First Information Report came to be lodged. The petitioner being the husband was supposed to protect the lady, having failed to do so, this Court for the present does not deem it fit to enlarge him on bail which is accordingly rejected.
The learned Trial Court is directed to take all necessary steps so that the trial relating to the present case is concluded expeditiously.
