JUSTICE BIRENDRA PRASAD VERMA ORAL ORDER 07-12-2016 Despite repeated calls, none appears on behalf of the petitioner to press the present writ petition. However, the learned AC to AG, appearing on behalf of the respondents by referring to the averments made in the counter affidavit filed on behalf of the respondent nos. 2 and 3, submits that the proceeding for acquisition of land started in the year 2008 has lapsed since award could not be prepared within the time prescribed. He further submits that now compensation shall be paid to the interested persons/landholders under the provisions of The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.

Therefore, according to him, the grievances of the petitioner have practically been redressed.

Be that as it may, since none is appearing on behalf of the petitioner, the writ petition stands dismissed for want of prosecution.
