The petitioner seeks bail in Kasba P.S. Case No. 74 of 2020, registered for the offence punishable under Sections 498A, 307 and other allied sections of the Indian Penal Code and section 4/5 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

As per the prosecution case, all the accused persons including this petitioner demanded dowry and committed cruelty with the daughter of informant. Due to non-fulfillment of demand of dowry the accused persons set her on fire by pouring kerosene oil on her body, causing burn injury to him. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that petitioner is brother-in-law (Bhaisur) of the victim girl and he is living separately and has got no concern with the family affairs of victim girl and her husband.
