Petitioner seeks regular bail in a case registered for the offence under sections 304B/201 of the Indian Penal Code on the allegation that he killed his wife and secretly disposed of the dead body on account of non-fulfilment of dowry demand. Learned counsel for the petitioner has doubted the identification of the dead body fished out from a well. He submits that the petitioner was leading happy conjugal life, as such, sudden disappearance of his wife cannot be termed as murder by the petitioner, as alleged. Petitioner is in custody since 7.8.2018.

Learned counsel for the informant submits that the petitioner was in habit of demand of dowry and committing torture on the deceased soon after three years of the marriage and sometime she was not even served food.

From perusal of the impugned order dated 16.5.2019, it appears that charges have been framed but there is no progress in the trial as prosecution witnesses have not turned up till date. Keeping in view the nature of allegation, petitioner's

Trial Court to expedite the trial and conclude the same within a year from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
