JUSTICE ARVIND SRIVASTAVA ORAL JUDGMENT (Per: HONOURABLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE) Date: 14-12-2016 The grievance of the petitioner is that ration cards are not being prepared in terms of the National Food Security Act, 2013 so as to entitle the residents of village Milki, Sadanandpur Baisa, Police Station- Kahalgaun, District-Bhagalpur to draw the essential commodities under the Public Distribution System. In the counter affidavit filed, it is asserted that a Circular has been issued on 5th July, 2016 to issue ration cards only after verification of the application of the persons regarding their entitlement to get the ration cards.

Patna High Court CWJC No.2398 of 2016 dt.14-12-2016 2/2 Learned counsel for the State submits that the enquiry into the entitlement of the residents of the village is in progress and the same is likely to be completed within two months. In view thereof, we dispose of the present writ petition with direction to the respondents to complete the enquiry into the genuineness of the claim of the residents of the village for the grant of the ration cards and issue the same expeditiously, preferably within a period of two months from today.
