Learned counsel for the Bank is present.

In this case, the petitioner is challenging the order of punishment dated 10.03.2000, passed by the Assistant General
Manager-cum- Disciplinary Authority, whereby and where-under he has been inflicted two punishments, which are as follows:- "Basic Pay reduced by ONE stage in the present time scale for two years. He will earn increments during the period of punishment. On the expiry of the period, the reduction will have the effect of postponing his future increment of pay.

The Appellate Authority vide order dated 25.01.2001 modified the punishment to the following extent. "The Basic Pay of Shri Choubey is reduced by one stage in the time scale of pay for a period of one year. Shri Choubey will earn his normal increments of pay during the period of reduction and the reduction will not have the effect of postponing future increments of his pay." 4.
The Revisional Authority vide order dated 04.06.2001 affirmed the order of the Appellate Authority. 5.
The short facts of this case are that the petitioner was working as Assistant Manager (Cash) at Kendua branch of the Bank. As the Branch Manager was transferred, the petitioner was directed
by the Bank to take charge of the Manager till new incumbent joins the Bank, but he has shown his inability, making statement that he is unable to handle the branch and requested to relieve him from onerous responsibility. But, the Bank has repeatedly asked the petitioner to take charge and ultimately, a proceeding was initiated. The Disciplinary Authority, passed the punishment order as mentioned hereinabove, the Appellate Authority modified the same as stated hereinabove. The Revisional Authority also examined the case of the petitioner and refused to interfere with the order of the Appellate Authority.

This Court feels that only the punishment has been inflicted of being deprived of certain amount for one year. Hence, this petition is dismissed.
