2 In view of the scheme for grant of ex gratia (lump sum amount) in lieu of appointment on compassionate appointment having come into force with effect from 31.07.2006, claim of the petitioner for compassionate appointment in light of death of his father in harness on 10.04.2009 is not enforceable since there was no such scheme for compassionate appointment as on the date the father of the petitioner died in harness in service of the respondent-Bank.
