Earlier, the prayer for bail of petitioner was rejected vide order dated 04.01.2022 passed in Cr. Misc. No. 22648 of 2021.

The trial court report reveals that charge-sheet has been framed on 31.03.2021. Till date not a single eye-witness has been examined, summons have already been issued for the same.

However, learned counsel for the State vehemently opposes the prayer for bail application of the petitioner submitting that petitioner has got 14 criminal antecedents and there are high chances of tampering of evidence if bail is granted to him.

No.45702 of 2022(3) dt.16-11-2022 2/2 Considering the fact that petitioner has got 14 criminal antecedents and progress of the trial, prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. However, since petitioner is in custody since 03.10.2020, learned trial court is directed to conclude the trial preferably within a period of one year from the date of receipt/production of copy of this order.
