2. The petitioner seeks bail in connection with Chanpatiya P.S. Case No. 188 of 2023, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 302/34 of the Indian Penal Code.
3. The prosecution case, in brief, is that the marriage of daughter of informant was solemnized with this petitioner in the year 2014. Allegedly, after marriage, daughter of informant was subjected to demand of dowry and due to non-fulfillment of the same, the accused persons killed daughter of informant.
4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is quite innocent and has falsely been implicated in the present case due to ulterior motive. As a matter of fact,
Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.51274 of 2024(3) dt.18-10-2024 2/2 daughter of informant was a short-tempered lady and due to family feud, she committed suicide. The postmortem report also reveals that there was a ligature mark on the neck of the deceased. Petitioner is in custody since 29.05.2024.
5. Learned A.P.P. appearing on behalf of the State opposed the prayer for bail and submits that petitioner is husband of the deceased and there is specific allegation against him that he along with other accused persons committed torture and harassment for dowry, as a result of which, the deceased was forced to end her life.
6. Having considered the accusation and gravity of offence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. (Prabhat Kumar Singh, J) utkarsh/- U T
