JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 20-07-2022 The limited prayer made by the petitioner in the present case is to direct the Licensing authority i.e. the District Magistrate, Patna to dispose of the pending application of the petitioner dated 4.1.2018 filed for grant of rifle license. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner be also granted liberty to file written submission in support of his application so that the licensing authority can be made aware about the law on the subject matter. The learned counsel for the Respondent State submits that necessary orders shall definitely be passed on the pending application of the petitioner for grant of arms license within a stipulated time frame.

Patna High Court CWJC No.16636 of 2021(2) dt.20-07-2022 2/2 Accordingly, the present writ petition stands disposed of, however, with liberty to the petitioner to file written submission within a period of two weeks from today before the District Magistrate, Patna in his pending case for grant of arms license, whereupon the District Magistrate, Patna shall dispose of the aforesaid application of the petitioner by passing appropriate orders, in accordance with law as also considering the written submissions to be filed by the petitioner herein, within a period of eight weeks, thereafter, in case the application of the petitioner has not already been disposed of.
