2. The petitioner seeks bail in connection with Special Vigilance Case No. 05/2024 arising out of Ghurna P.S. Case No. 22 of 2024 registered for the offence punishable under Sections 120(B) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 7/7(A)/8/12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

3. The petitioner has accepted a bribe of Rs. 19,900/-. His illegal act has been captured in the CCTV camera. The petitioner is a home guard and he is in jail since 15.05.2024 and he has no antecedent.

4. Mr. Rana Vikram Singh, learned Spl. P.P. for the Vigilance Department has vehemently opposed the prayer for

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.52216 of 2024(2) dt.07-08-2024 2/2 bail and has submitted that a person engaged by the State should not be granted bail if he is involved in extortion and accepting illegal gratification.

5. Considering the period of custody, let the petitioner above named be released on bail, on furnishing bail bonds of Rs.10,000/- (Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Additional Sessions Judge V cum Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhagalpur/ concerned court in connection with Ghurna P.S. Case No. 22 of 2024.
