1. The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following relief(s):- "1.(i) To issue appropriate writ/order in the nature of writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant appropriate compensation to the petitioner on account of death of his wife, namely, Chandrima Devi at the Nalanda Medical College & Hospital, Patna, in the evening of 08.10.2015.

(ii) To issue appropriate writ/order in the nature of writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant appropriate compensation to the petitioner on

Patna High Court CWJC No.9252 of 2016(3) dt.03-10-2024 2/2 account of the infant's death within three days of normal delivery, in the night of 11.10.2015, at his residence.

(iii) To issue appropriate writ/order in the nature of writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to henceforth, initiate a factual inquiry into the aforesaid death of the petitioner's wife and also with respect to the infant's death.

(iv) To issue appropriate writ/order in the nature of writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to carry out death review of the aforesaid death, as per the guidelines framed under the National Rural Health Mission/National Health Mission."

2. At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks not to press the present writ petition, however, seeks liberty on behalf of the petitioner to avail such other alternative remedies as are otherwise available under the law, including that of approaching the competent Consumer Court/Forum, for redressal of his aforesaid grievances. Liberty so sought is granted.

3. The writ petition stands disposed of.
