The petitioner seeks bail in connection with Jagdishpur P.S. Case No. 239 of 2021, dated 20.07.2021, instituted for the offence under Section 30(a) of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016.

117 litres of country made liquor is said to have been recovered from a vehicle of which the petitioner is said to be the driver.

It has been submitted on behalf of the petitioner that he did not know about the consignment as he was working under the dictates of his employer.

However, taking into account that the petitioner

No.56138 of 2021(2) dt.23-05-2022 2/2 does not have criminal antecedents and his period of custody which is from 20.07.2021, he is directed to be released on bail on his furnishing bail-bonds in the sum of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned 2nd Addl. District and Sessions Judge-Cum-Special Judge (Excise Act)-Cum-Special Judge, Vigilance (Trap Act), Bhagalpur in connection with Jagdishpur P.S. Case No. 239 of 2021.

The application stands allowed.
