2. The present application has been filed for modification of the order dated 15.01.2024 passed in Cr. Misc. No. 23626 of 2023 by a Co-ordinate Bench of this Court, seeking extension of the time granted to the petitioner for surrender before the learned court below in connection with Mahila P.S. Case No. 76 of 2019, registered under Sections 323, 341, 379, 354, 498A, 504 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner could not surrender within the time stipulated in the earlier order and, therefore, prays for grant of further time for the said purpose. It is further submitted that the petitioner is

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.52598 of 2026(2) dt.28-07-2026 2/2 ready and willing to deposit a sum of Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) with a charitable organization, without prejudice to his case.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submissions advanced on behalf of the parties, the present modification application is allowed.

5. Accordingly, the petitioner is granted further time of four (04) weeks from today to surrender before the court concerned and furnish bail bond, in accordance with law, subject to the condition that the petitioner shall deposit a sum of Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) with Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Swami Vivekananda Path, Bela, Muzaffarpur, Bihar and shall produce the valid receipt thereof before the court below at the time of surrender.

6. It is clarified that the bail bonds of the petitioner shall be accepted only after due verification of the genuineness and validity of the said receipt by the court concerned.

7. The order dated 15.01.2024 passed in Cr. Misc. No. 23626 of 2023 stands modified to the aforesaid extent. (Sandeep Kumar, J) Shishir/- U T
