Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the State. The petitioner prays for grant of bail in Tekari P.S. Case no. 203/2019 registered for the offence punishable under section 304B/34 of the Indian Penal Code.

As per prosecution case, daughter of the informant was married with the petitioner about six years ago and on 20.6.2014 informant came to know that his daughter has been killed. There is accusation of making demand of dowry of Rs 2 lacs by accused persons including this petitioner who happens to be husband of the deceased.

It is submitted that the deceased had committed suicide and when this petitioner tried to save, he got badly injured

It is further submitted that the aforesaid fact has been supported by many witnesses during course of investigation as such it is not case of dowry death. Petitioner is government servant and there is no chance of absconding. Petitioner is in custody since 11.09.2020. However, learned counsel for the informant vehemently opposed the prayer for bail and submitted that there is specific and direct allegation against this petitioner for killing the daughter of the informant for dowry.

Taking into consideration the above submissions and materials available on record and nature of accusation and thrust of accusation against this petitioner who happens to be husband of the deceased, this bail application is rejected. (Prabhat Kumar Singh, J) s.hassan/- U T
