The petitioner, who is in custody since 18.07.2021 seeks bail in connection with Mairwa P.S. Case No. 199/2021 instituted for the offences under Section 30(a) of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act.

The petitioner is said to be the driver of the vehicle from where 187.380 litres of liquor is said to have been recovered.

The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner had no idea that such liquor was being carried by the passengers.

He is custody since 18.07.2021 and does not have criminal antecedents.

No.56750 of 2021(2) dt.23-05-2022 2/2 Regard being had to the period of custody of the petitioner and the nature of accusation, he is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bonds of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Additional Sessions Judge -IIcum-Special Judge Excise, Siwan, in connection with Mairwa P.S. Case No. 199/2021.
