The petitioner apprehends his arrest in Barun P.S. Case No. 141/2016, registered for the offences punishable under Section 135 of Bihar Electricity Act.

The petitioner is alleged to have committed theft of electric energy by illegally connecting wire in the main line and running motor of 5 H.P. The petitioner by committing theft of electric energy caused loss of Rs. 1,42, 849/- to the South Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has got consumer I.D. card. The allegation of

No.19836 of 2017 (3) dt.12-07-2017 2/2 committing theft is false, but I find that the informant has very categorically stated that the petitioner was found illegally connecting wire in the main line for running motor of 5 H.P. Considering the facts aforesaid and nature of allegation made against the petitioner, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner above-named on anticipatory bail. Accordingly, the same is rejected.
