The writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus to appoint the petitioners as Amin Surveyer since they were candidates pursuant to Advertisement No. 5 issued in the year 2012 by Collector cum Settlement Officer, Sheikhpura. Counsel for the respondent State has rightly pointed out that the advertisement was for making appointment on contractual basis for one year. The writ petition has been filed

Patna High Court CWJC No.5315 of 2015(3) dt.22-01-2019 2/2 belatedly in the year 2015 after completion of the selection process on 25.1.2014. The appointment, which was made pursuant to the selection process, had already come to an end before filing of the writ petition.

Considering the aforesaid submission, the writ petition is devoid of merit and the same is accordingly dismissed.
