The present writ petition has been filed for quashing the proceedings of the University Selection Committee dated 30.05.2011 and thereafter, granting merit promotion to the petitioner on the post of Reader w.e.f. 02.11.1990. 2.
At the outset, the learned counsel for the University has submitted that the grant of time bound promotion/ benefit of time bound promotion scheme to the petitioner is not an impediment in considering the case of the petitioner for merit promotion scheme.

In view of the statement made by the learned counsel for the University, the resolution dated 30.05.2011 in respect of the petitioner is quashed and the matter is remanded back to the University for considering the case of the petitioner for promotion on the post of Reader/ Associate Professor. 4.
In order to facilitate the quick disposal of the case of the petitioner, the petitioner is directed to furnish all the necessary documents, as required for in the performa being referred to by the University in their supplementary counter affidavit within a period of four weeks from today, whereafter the University shall take a decision with regard to the promotion of the petitioner within a period of twelve weeks thereafter. 5.
The writ petition stands disposed of on the aforesaid terms.
