JUSTICE VIKASH JAIN ORAL JUDGMENT Date : 30-11-2018 The present writ petition has been filed for quashing the letter dated 07.08.2013 issued by respondent No.2 by which the application of petitioner for extension of Halt contract has not been considered and further petitioner was directed to hand over the charge of Kantakosh Halt Station to Station Manager, Manihari and for quashing of Press Notification dated 12.08.2013 issued by Respondent No.2 by which applications have been invited for appointment of contractor at Kanta Kosh Halt Station and for direction to the Respondents to make extension of Halt Contract for Kanta Kosh Halt for further period from 01.08.2013 to 01.02.2016 for a period of 2 1⁄2 years.

2. As none appeared on behalf of the petitioner, the matter was passed over for a few cases. However, on repeated call, the petitioner was again not represented.

3. Learned counsel for the respondent Railway appears and submits that the writ petition has now become infructuous by efflux of time. The application of the petitioner is for extension of work contract for the period of two and a half years and for further period of two and a half thereafter and that it is submitted that entire period of extension has already expired.

4. Having regard to the nature of grievance of the petitioner and the stand of the respondent, the writ petition is dismissed.
