====================================================== CORAM: HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE ALOK KUMAR SINHA ORAL ORDER 01-07-2026 Heard learned counsel for the petitioners, learned counsel appearing for the respondent-Patliputra University and learned counsel appearing for the respondent-State.
2. The petitioners, in the present writ application, have prayed for grant of the following relief: "(i) For issuance of writ of mandamus
Patna High Court CWJC No.9496 of 2026(2) dt.01-07-2026 2/3 commanding Respondent No. 2 and 3 to permit online registration and submission of examination forms of the petitioners, who are duly admitted and enrolled 1st year students of B.A. LL.B. (5 Years Course) at Bihar Institute of Law, Patna, affiliated by Patliputra University, Patna and recognized by Bar Council of India, New Delhi.
(ii) For issuance of appropriate writ / order / direction commanding the respondent University to allow the petitioners to appear in the 1st Year B.A. LL.B. (5 Years Course) Examination, 2026 scheduled to commence on 02.07.2026, subject to the outcome of the present writ proceeding.
(iii) For grant of any other relief in the interest of justice, equity and good conscious."
3. It is informed at the Bar that the examination is scheduled to be held from tomorrow (02.07.2026).

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that if permitted by this Court, the petitioners are prepared to approach the Registrar, Patliputra University, Patna today itself for redressal of their grievance. It is further prayed that some observation be given which may possibly help the petitioners getting the relief which they are seeking in the present writ application.
5. To the aforesaid submission made by learned counsel for the petitioners, learned counsel appearing for the respondent-State and for the respondent-University do not have any objection.

6. As prayed for by learned counsel for the petitioners, this writ application is permitted to be withdrawn. Considering the urgency involved in the present matter and also taking note of the fact that examination is scheduled to be held from tomorrow, the petitioners are permitted to approach the Registrar, Patliputra University, Patna by 3:00 p.m. today and request the Registrar, Patliputra University, Patna to consider their grievance.
7. If the petitioners approach the Registrar, Patliputra University, Patna before 3:00 p.m. today with a written request to consider their grievance, the Registrar, Patliputra University, Patna is expected to consider the same sympathetically and take appropriate decision in the matter, in accordance with law.
8. With the aforesaid observation and direction, the present writ application stands disposed of.
