Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the Union of India as well as learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State.

The present application has been filed on behalf of the petitioner, above named, for grant of regular bail to the petitioner who has been made accused and put behind the bar in connection with Special Case No. 172 of 2020 corresponding to D.R.I, Patna Unit Case No. 14 of 2020-21 registered for the offences punishable under Sections 20, 25 and 29 of the N.D.P.S. Act, 1985.

No.57975 of 2021(2) dt.06-04-2022 2/2 The petitioner is said to be Khalasi of the truck bearing Registration No. JH10-AV-0227 was found present at the time of interception of that vehicle, further, from the prosecution case, it is evident that a huge quantity of 1863.630 Kilogram of Ganja has been recovered from the said vehicle. Further, the confession of the petitioner has also been recorded accepting his involvement in the present case. Regard being had to the nature of the accusation and considering the recovery of huge quantity of narcotics substance from the possession of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant privilege of regular bail to the petitioner and hence, his prayer for bail in connection with Special Case No. 172 of 2020 corresponding to D.R.I, Patna Unit Case No. 14 of 2020-21 stands rejected.

However, it is expected that the learned trial Court will expedite the trial of the petitioner and try to conclude the same, expeditiously.
