====================================================== CORAM: HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE ASHUTOSH KUMAR ORAL ORDER 15-10-2020 Heard Mr. Ajay Kumar Thakur, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Sanjay Parasmani, learned Advocate for the opposite party No. 2.

This is an application seeking quashing of the First Information Report of Madhubani Town P.S. Case No. 105 of 2016, dated 18.03.2016, which has been instituted for the

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.29816 of 2016(9) dt.15-10-2020 2/2 offences under Sections 498(A), 379 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3/4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. This case was sent to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre of the Patna High Court, where the differences between the spouses were ironed out and a settlement had been arrived. The spouses are also divorced by a competent Court of law. A compromise also has been effected between the parties and the opposite party No. 2 does not wish to prosecute the petitioner any further. Considering this aspect of the matter, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the present case pending.

For the aforesaid reason, the subject F.I.R., viz., Madhubani Town P.S. Case No. 105 of 2016, is, hereby, quashed.

The application stands allowed.
