JUSTICE MOHIT KUMAR SHAH ORAL ORDER 01-08-2024 The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following reliefs:- "1(a). To issue an appropriate writ, order, or direction in the nature of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to expeditiously process and grant the arms licence to the petitioner as per the application dated 28-03-2022.

(b). To direct the respondents to dispose off the representation and petition submitted by the petitioner vide Annexure-P/series for grant of License as earlier Arms License was already granted in favour of late father of Petitioner."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the Respondent No. 2 i.e. the District Magistrate, District-Gaya, to dispose off the pending application, filed by the petitioner, for grant of arms license on 28.3.2022.

Per contra, the learned counsel for the Respondent-State submits that in case, the petitioner has filed an application for grant of arms license and the same is still pending, it shall be disposed off, within a fixed time frame.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, I deem it fit and proper to direct the respondent No. 2 to consider the aforesaid application, filed by the petitioner, for grant of arms license, in case the same has actually been filed & is still pending and pass a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks of receipt / production of a copy of this order.

Accordingly, the present writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
