(i) For issuance of an appropriate writ of Mandamus for directing the respondents to grant the Arms licence in favour of the petitioner."

At the outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction upon the District Magistrate, Gopalganj to dispose off the application, filed by the petitioner for grant of Arms license on 01.07.2019, within a stipulated time frame.

Per contra, the learned counsel for the respondent-State submits that in case the aforesaid application is still pending, the same would definitely be disposed off within a stipulated time frame, as is fixed by this Court.

Having regard to the limited prayer made by the petitioner in the present writ petition, I deem it fit and proper to direct the District Magistrate, Gopalganj to dispose off the aforesaid application dated 01.07.2019, filed by the petitioner for grant of arms license, in case the same has actually been filed and is still pending consideration, by passing a reasoned and a speaking order, in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed off on the aforesaid terms.
