The petitioner is apprehending his arrest in connection with Raniganj P.S. Case No. 303 of 2017 for the offences under Sections 395 and 397 of the Indian Penal Code. The FIR was lodged against unknown. The name of the petitioner surfaced in the confessional statement of other accused namely Chandra Kishore Mandal.
Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is a man of clean antecedent. He has been made accused in this case on the basis of confessional statement of a co-accused. Considering the fact that the FIR was lodged against unknown and the petitioner has no criminal antecedent, as per
