The petitioner seeks bail in anticipation of his arrest in connection with Rosera P.S. Case No. 18 of 2020 instituted for the offences under Sections 147, 148, 149, 323, 341, 386, 389, 427 and 448 of the Indian Penal Code. Regard being had to the nature of allegation, namely, dragging the informant from a vehicle on gunpoint and divesting him of his personal belongings on the ground of his having not paid up protection money, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. While saying so, the Court has also taken note of

Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.4132 of 2021(2) dt.10-12-2021 2/2 the fact that the petitioner has criminal history. The prayer for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner is, accordingly, rejected.

Should the petitioner surrender before the Court below and seek bail, it shall consider the case on its own merits, without being prejudiced by the fact that the present anticipatory bail application on his behalf has not been entertained by this Court.

The application stands dismissed.
