Petitioner seeks bail in a case registered for the offences punishable under Section 307 and other minor sections of the Indian Penal Code.

One Pramod Rai of village Tetriya along with two others demanded rupees ten lacs as extortion money from the informant and when informant refused to buckle upon the pressure, he was assaulted by the aforesaid three persons. Contention on behalf of the petitioner is that one Pramod Rai of village Tetriya was made accused in the written report but subsequently, police roped the petitioner in the present crime and except the criminal antecedent of the petitioner, there is

Patna High Court Cr.Misc. No.11580 of 2016 (2) dt.15-03-2016 2/2 nothing against him. It is further submitted that moreover, coaccused, Baiju Rai has already been granted privilege of bail by the learned court below itself.

Considering the aforesaid facts and circumstances as well as submissions of the parties, let the petitioner be released on bail on furnishing bail bonds of Rs. 10,000/- (Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate-VI, Motihari, East Champaran in connection with Mehshi P.S.
