The petitioner seeks bail in anticipation of his arrest in connection with Mirganj P.S. Case No. 159 of 2020, dated 12.08.2020, instituted for the offences under Section 387 of the Indian Penal Code.

The F.I.R. is against unknown.

The informant has alleged that he was threatened on telephone for paying up Rs. 10,00,000/-.

No.4137 of 2021(2) dt.10-12-2021 2/3 During the course of investigation, one Rahul Ram was arrested on the basis of the mobile number of which he was in possession and from which the ransom call had come. Aforesaid Rahul Ram is said to have named the petitioner as his associate.

It has been submitted on behalf of the petitioner that beyond the aforesaid confession of Rahul Ram, there is no other material to connect the petitioner with the offence. Way back in the year 2014, the petitioner was made accused in a case under Section 392 of the I.P.C., but in that case he has been granted bail.

Regard being had to the facts afore-stated, the petitioner, in the event of his arrest or surrender before the learned Court below within a period of four weeks, is directed to be released on bail on his furnishing bail-bonds in the sum of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate-XVI, Gopalganj in connection with Mirganj P.S. Case No. 159 of 2020, subject to the conditions laid down under Section 438(2) of
