The petitioner, by order dated 24.06.2014 issued by the Deputy General Manager (Human Resources and

Patna High Court CWJC No.14545 of 2019(2) dt.23-07-2019 2/3 Administration), South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited, Vidyut Bhawan, Bailey Road, Patna, has been subjected to a punishment of withholding of one yearly increment with non-cumulative effect and has been punished by denial of any monetary benefit except subsistence allowance during the suspension period.

It appears that the petitioner has preferred an appeal against the aforesaid order before the Chairman-cumChief Managing Director, Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited, Vidyut Bhavan, Bailey Road, Patna (Respondent No. 2) on 28.12.2015.

It has been submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the aforesaid appeal has not yet been disposed off. This appears to be rather surprising that appeal has been kept pending for about four years.

This Court, under the aforesaid circumstances, directs the appellate authority, namely, the Chairman-cumChief Managing Director, Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited, Vidyut Bhavan, Bailey Road, Patna (Respondent No. 2) to dispose off the appeal of the

Patna High Court CWJC No.14545 of 2019(2) dt.23-07-2019 3/3 petitioner within a period of six weeks from the date of production/communication of a copy of this order. Needless to state that such order of the concerned appellate authority shall be a reasoned order.

With the aforesaid observation / direction, this petition stands disposed off.
