The petitioner, who is in custody since 09.08.2021, seeks bail in connection with Ahiyapur P.S. Case No. 61 of 2020 dated 17.01.2020 instituted for the offence under Sections 272 and 273 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 30(a) and 36 of the Bihar Prohibition & Excise Act.

Approximately 345.780 litres of liquor has been recovered from several vehicles. The name of the petitioner has transpired in the statement made by the driver of one of the vehicles that the petitioner had run away from the place of raid on seeing the police party.

Regard being had to the nature of offence and the period of custody, he is directed to be released on bail on his
