Petitioner seeks bail in a case initially, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 461, 379 of the Indian Penal Code and later on, Sections 295, 411, 414, 420 of the Indian Penal Code, Section 25 of Antiques and Treasure Act and Section 30(1) (III) of Ancient Monument and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act were also added.

The name of petitioner surfaced in confessional statement of co-accused, Shaktidhar Dwivedi @ Maloo, who has already been granted privilege of bail by this court. Petitioner does not have any criminal antecedent nor anything has been recovered from his conscious possession.
