2. The petitioner seeks bail in connection with Mahila P.S. Case No.15 of 2022 registered for the offence under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code.

As per the prosecution case, the petitioner who is the father-in-law of the victim, is accused of committing rape with the victim. The petitioner is in jail since 17.02.2024. 4.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that this is a false case and there is delay of four days in lodging the F.I.R. and when the victim was not paid Rs. 7500/- during the mediation then this false case has been registered by her. He further submits that there is an old dispute between the family of the petitioner and the informant.

Learned APP for the State has vehemently opposes the prayer for regular bail of the petitioner.

6. Considering the fact of the case, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this application is dismissed.

The Court below is directed to expedite the trial of the petitioner and conclude the same at the earliest. If the trial is delayed due to the fault of the prosecution side, the petitioner may renew his prayer for bail.
