2. The present writ application has been filed by the petitioner for a direction to the respondents to grant promotion in Graduate Trained Scale.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that similarly circumstanced others have been granted the benefit of promotion in Graduate Trained Scale, but the petitioner has been denied the same.

4. Learned counsel for the respondents submits that earlier the petitioner was accused in a criminal case, in which he has been exonerated on 25.10.2018.

5. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that now the petitioner is a free man and as such the respondents are under obligation to consider his case for grant of promotion.

6. Without going into the merit of the case, the writ application is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to take appropriate decision with regard to the claim of the petitioner for grant of promotion in Graduate Trained Scale in accordance with law.

7. Necessary decision in this regard must be taken by the respondents within a maximum period of four months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.

8. With the aforesaid, the writ application stands disposed of.
