The appellant seeks bail in a case registered for the offence punishable under Section 354(d)/34 of the Indian Penal Code, Sections 3(i)(r)(s)(w)(i) of the SC/ST Act and Sections 8/12 of the POCSO Act.

In pursuance to the order dated 02.11.2022, status report of trial in connection with Punoura P.S. Case No. 100 of 2021 has been received, in which it is, inter alia, reported that the trial may be concluded within six months. Considering the present stage of the trial, I am not inclined to enlarge the appellant on bail. Accordingly, his payer for bail is rejected in connection with Punoura P.S. Case No. 100 of 2021 pending before the court of the learned Additional

However, Trial Court is directed to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible within a period of six months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order. If the trial is not concluded within six months, the appellant would be at liberty to renew his prayer for bail.
