1. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel appearing for the Board.

The petitioner has approached this Court for correction of her date of birth in the Madhayma certificate granted by Bihar Sanskrit Shiksha Board, Patna, to the extent, the date of birth of the petitioner mentioned in the certificate is 17.07.1979 whereas the actual date of birth of the petitioner is 15.07.1979.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner appeared, in the year 2012, in Madhayma examination having Code No. 3001, Roll No. 0156 in which she passed in First division. The actual date of birth of this petitioner is

Patna High Court CWJC No.17361 of 2019(3) dt.12-10-2023 2/3 15.07.1979 as mentioned in the registration certificate issued by the Board and admit card. He further submits that in the school leaving certificate, the date of birth of the petitioner is also mentioned as 15.07.1979. The petitioner, vide a representation/application dated 08.10.2018, applied for correction of her date of birth in the Madhayma certificate from 17.07.1979 to 15.07.1979 and also produced the relevant documents.

Learned counsel for the Board submits that the petitioner applied for correction of her date of birth after a long period of time inasmuch as she has passed the examination in the 2012 but she has made an application for correction of her date of birth after six years in 2018. He further submits that as per the General Tabulation Register and reserve tabulation register, the date of birth of the petitioner mentioned therein is 17.07.1979 and accordingly, in the certificate issued by the Board, the date of birth of the petitioner is mentioned as 17.07.1979.

5. Learned counsel, however, agrees that the date of birth mentioned in the other documents i.e., registration certificate, admit card and school leaving certificate, is 15.07.1979.

Having heard learned counsel for the parties and taking into consideration, the nature of dispute, the present writ application is disposed with the direction to the Board to verify the documents viz. the registration certificate, admit card and school leaving certificate produced by the petitioner in original before the Board within twenty days and take a final decision for correction of date of birth of the petitioner in the original certificate of Madhayma within a further period of one month thereof.
