Petitioner, already in custody, seeks bail in connection with G.R.P. Patna (Guljarbagh) P.S. Case No.603 of 2017, registered under Sections 379/411/34 of the Indian Penal Code. Allegation in brief is that the petitioner was caught red handed with the chain snatched by him in a running train. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that another person, co-accused, was granted bail by the court below from whose possession half of the chain was recovered and the petitioner is a student and has no criminal antecedent. Learned counsel for the State submits that the another coaccused was not apprehended at the spot, there is no recovery from his possession, only his name was disclosed by this

Having considered the said facts and circumstances, the Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at present, so his prayer of bail is rejected in connection with G.R.P. Patna (Guljarbagh) P.S. Case No.603 of 2017, pending in the court of learned A.C.J.M., Railway Court at Patna.

However, the trial court is directed to expedite the trial and preferably conclude the same within six months. If the trial is not concluded within the stipulated period, the petitioner may renew his prayer of bail.
