JUSTICE DINESH KUMAR SINGH ORAL JUDGMENT (Per: HONOURABLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE) Date: 21-12-2016 The present petition in public interest is for a direction to the respondents to return the land measuring 50 acres 69 decimals to the original owners or their legal heirs acquired by Steel Authority of India for the purposes of establishment of Steel Processing Unit in

Patna High Court CWJC No.13336 of 2015 dt.21-12-2016 2/2 Block-Sahdei Buzurg, Mahnar, District-Vaishali, Bihar. A perusal of the petition shows that the farmers have sold their lands vide sale deed dated 02.06.2008 for a total consideration of Rs.1,99,72,000/- through respondent no.7 on the basis of power of attorney. Once the land has been sold by the farmers, right to dispute such sale, if any, will vest with the farmers and not in public interest litigation.

Consequently, we do not find any merit in the present writ petition. The same is dismissed.
