The petitioner is in judicial custody in connection with Manjhi P.S. Case No. 158 of 2021 (Sessions Trial No. 401 of 2021) lodged under section 304(B) and 120(B) of the Indian Penal Code.

The informant is the father of the deceased.

As per the FIR, the informant alleged that he had married his daughter (deceased) to the petitioner herein. However, she was being tortured for non-fulfillment of the demand of a bullet motorcycle beside cash of Rs. 1,00,000/-. On 25.5.2021, the petitioner had taken his daughter back to his home with the promise that he will take care of her.

The petitioner being the husband of the deceased cannot shrug of his responsibility and cannot exonerate himself from the tragic end of the lady.

This Court is not inclined to grant any relief to the petitioner. The bail application is accordingly rejected. The trial court is directed to speed up the trial and take it to its logical conclusion at an earliest. (Rajiv Roy, J) Ravi/- U T
