Petitioner no. 1 has appeared for Class X examination held by the Central Board of Secondary Education in the year 2015. His father's name is Ram Bilash Yadav as asserted in the writ application. He passed the said Class X examination where-after marks-sheet, migration certificate and other documents have been issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education in which his father's name has been entered as R.B.

Patna High Court CWJC No.8531 of 2017 (2) dt.25-01-2018 2/2 Yadav in place of Ram Bilash Yadav. He applied for correction of the said entry in 2016, which has been rejected by the regional office of the Central Board of Secondary Education, Patna, on the ground that the petitioner's claim was not filed within one year, which was the limitation period for filing of such application. The said order dated 08/09.08.2016 is being assailed in the present application.

This is not in dispute that time for making application for correction in the entry of the said certificate has been extended from one year to five years.

In such circumstance, in my view, the Board is required to re-consider the petitioner's case for correction in the entry in relation to his father's name. Secondly, considering the minor nature of the correction sought for, this application is disposed of with a direction to the Regional Officer, Patna of Central Board of Secondary Education, to consider the petitioner's case and decide it favourably within two months from the date of receipt/production of a copy of this order.
