JUSTICE CHAKRADHARI SHARAN SINGH ORAL ORDER 04-08-2017 The petitioner seeks a direction to respondent nos. 2 and 4 for correcting his name as recorded in Class- Xth certificate, issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The certificate has been brought on record by way of Annexure-1. The petitioner seeks addition of his title "Sinha" after his name as mentioned in the certificate, i.e. Rishabh.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has relied on an order passed by this Court in C.W.J.C. No. 4477 of 2017 dated 13.04.2017 (Kshitiz Vs. Union of India) to support her contention. I have heard learned counsel appearing on behalf of the Central Board of Secondary Education. I find substance in submission, made on behalf of the petitioner, that his case is covered by a decision in a case of Kshitiz Vs. Union of India

I, accordingly, direct the Central Board of Secondary Education to correct the petitioner's name as entered in Class-Xth examination result, the certificate and other documents, maintained by the CBSE, by incorporating his title "Sinha" after his name "Risabh".

In terms of decision of this Court in case of Kshitiz Vs. Union of India, the impugned order dated 29.06.2017, rejecting the petitioner's application for correction in his name, stands quashed.

The entire exercise must be carried within one month. (Chakradhari Sharan Singh, J.) Rakhi U
